After having achieved the distinction of being recognized as the ‘one of its kind” award ceremony, in a span of seven years it has not only been successful in raising the standards of web design and web development services in the Sultanate of Oman; but has also helped advocate growth and development, promoting intellectual property awareness and encouraging all sectors to become more involved in the IT world.

As a member of the Pan Arab Web Awards Academy, the Oman Web Awards is of increasing importance and has gained wider international recognition since Oman has proved to be an ideal developing ground for e-commerce activities. Having been created to recognize excellence in web design and development skills, it is open to all designers and developers, giving them an opportunity to showcase their ingenious work. 

This year’s Oman Web Awards will be held under the auspices of e-Oman, the Sultanate of Oman’s e-Governance initiative, which is built on His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s vision to create a Knowledge Society in Oman. Along with an effective government-community-citizen infrastructure that provides better public services to people, resulting in a meaningful information flow between the government and its citizens offering widest variety of convenient, cost-effective and customer-oriented electronic services that will empower and transform  life for the better.

With associate partner Microsoft, whose mission and values are to help people and businesses throughout the world realize their full potential, the Oman Web Awards   hopes to raise the banner higher than ever before. As an American multinational corporation headquartered in Redmond Washington that develops, manufactures, licenses and supports a wide range of products and services related to computing. Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in April 1975, Microsoft today is the world’s largest software maker in addition to being one of the world’s most valuable companies in terms of revenue.

Other associate partners include BSA, the software alliance.  BSA, the Software alliance is the voice of the world’s commercial software industry and its hardware partners before governments and in the international marketplace. BSA programs foster technology innovation through education and policy initiatives that promote copyright protection, cyber security, trade, and e-commerce.
The Registrations to participate in the Oman Web Awards is now open until March 1, 2014 and the Grand Finale will be held on April 14, 2014 at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
